Old Amersham & The Chilterns

There's so much
to explore.

Old Amersham is one of England's most beautiful market towns — and the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is right on the doorstep. The Crown makes the perfect base.

Old Amersham

A medieval market town
worth exploring.

Old Amersham's High Street has changed remarkably little in several centuries. Georgian and Tudor buildings line a broad, gently curving street that feels — genuinely — like somewhere people actually live, not a tourist attraction.

Independent shops, antique dealers, galleries, and excellent coffee sit alongside the old Market Hall and a handful of buildings that predate The Crown itself. It's the kind of town that rewards a slow walk.

The Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty begins virtually at the end of the High Street — beech woods, chalk hills, and some of the best walking in the south-east of England.
