The Crown Inn has stood on Old Amersham's medieval High Street since 1620. A Grade II listed coaching inn, it has welcomed travellers, hosted celebrations, and been a cornerstone of this remarkable Chilterns market town for over four centuries.
In recent years, the inn has been transformed by celebrated interior designer Ilse Crawford, whose sensitive restoration honours the building's extraordinary heritage while creating something genuinely contemporary. The result is a rare thing — a place that feels both rooted in the past and entirely alive to the present.
You may also recognise it. The Crown featured as a filming location in Four Weddings and a Funeral — though we'd like to think our rooms have improved since then.
